At Disguise Chat, our mission is to provide secure, private, and anonymous communication. This Privacy Policy outlines our uncompromising approach to data minimization. Simply put: we collect as little data as technically possible to provide our service, and what we don't have, we cannot share.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

To ensure your anonymity, we deliberately choose not to collect the following information:

• Personal Information: We do not ask for or store your real name, email address, phone number, or date of birth.
• Contact Lists: We do not scan, upload, or store your device's address book or contact lists.
• Location Data: We do not track or store GPS coordinates or location data.
• IP Addresses: We do not log IP addresses of users connecting to our service.
• Device Identifiers: We do not log unique device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, advertising IDs).

3. Data We Process

We process the absolute minimum data required to deliver messages:

• Account Credentials: We store a cryptographically hashed version of your password and your self-selected, anonymous Username/User ID to allow you to log in.
• Encrypted Messages: Messages are encrypted end-to-end. We temporarily store these encrypted blobs on our servers only until they are delivered to the recipient. Once delivered, they are purged from our servers. If a message cannot be delivered within 14 days, it is automatically deleted. We cannot read the contents of your messages.

4. End-to-End Encryption

All communication on Disguise Chat is secured using robust end-to-end encryption. The cryptographic keys used to encrypt and decrypt messages are generated and stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to your private keys and therefore cannot decrypt your communications under any circumstances.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Because we do not hold personal information, contact data, or the keys to decrypt your messages, we have nothing to share or disclose. In the event of a valid legal request, we can only provide the information we have, which is limited to the encrypted blobs of undelivered messages (which are unreadable to us and anyone else without the recipient's private key) and anonymous account creation timestamps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
